Nintendo Wii Mod Chip A Review And Comparison Of Wii Modchips
Thursday, December 17th, 2009This article is about “Nintendo Wii Mod Chip A Review And Comparison Of Wii Modchips”, we hope to bring more articles about “Wii Key Update” in the near future:
The Nintendo Wii has just barely hit retail stores, and already the homebrew scene is fast at work. Creating not only killer applications and homebrew games, but also developing (or at least helping develop) the worlds first Nintendo Wii mod chip(s). In this article I am going to discuss Nintendo Wii Mod Chips and give some of the features, pros and cons of the 3 different Nintendo Wii Mod Chips that have just recently been released.
The good news for Nintendo Wii gamers is that regardless of which Nintendo Wii mod chip you buy – you’ll have all the basics with each one. You will be able to play all Nintendo Wii Backup games (on DVD-R or DVD+R discs) and can use 8cm or 12cm DVD discs. You will also be able to play all Gamecube Backup games, import games as well as Gamecube Homebrew games. It really gets down to installation of the Nintendo Wii Mod chip and the features and functions, and future upgrade options of each Wii mod chip.
What is even more surprising with these new Nintendo Wii Mod chips is the prices that they’re being sold for. I remember quite clearly the days of the very first Playstation 2 mod chips, costing in excess of $90.00 US Dollars. It seems the Wii chips have opted instead for a lower entry price, in an effort to gain a greater piece of the Homebrew / Development / Modchip market. The prices range anywhere from $44.00 to just over $50.00, depending on the chip you decide to buy.
At present, there are actually 3 different Nintendo Wii Mod chips which will hit the market and online stores within the next week or so. While many online news sources seem to focus on just 2 of the 3 mod chips, perhaps because they’re unaware that there is a third chip in the making, I’m going to cover all 3 of the mod chips in the hopes of enabling you, the gamer, to make the buying decision that’s right for you. And after reading this article, I honestly believe that your decision will be based solely on price, and perhaps the option of an upgrade (or lack of) for the Wii Mod Chips.
Wiinja Nintendo Wii Mod Chip
The Wiinja Nintendo Wii Mod chip was actually the very first Wii chip to hit the market. While many online news sources seem to disregard this chip, it is still the very first and one of the easiest mod chips to install for the Nintendo Wii. Like the other mod chips for the Wii, the Wiinja will enable you to play all Wii and Gamecube Backup games, as well as Wii Import backup games, and original import games with just a single swap. Gamecube Import and Homebrew games are fully supported. While the other mod chips promise that their modchips, in time, will have their own custom OS to enable additional features, the Wiinja chip does not make this claim. In fact, they have stated that their chip is not meant to be upgraded. Stealth mode is still built in, even into this mod chip, and whether or not the lack of an upgrade feature is a deterrent is entirely up to you, the user. Often times many modchip manufacturers claim upgrade features, but then they lack the support for the upgrades, which tend to come out very rarely, if ever at all.
WiiKey Nintendo Wii Modchip
The manufacturer hype states the following: Unlock your Nintendo Wii with the worlds first truly upgradeable Nintendo Wii Mod Chip. The WiiKey for Nintendo Wii is made by the famous xenoGC team, responsible for the xenoGC Gamecube line of mod chips, and now, with their WiiKey, Wii owners can enjoy all the benefits of a team of great developers with a truly upgradeable Nintendo Wii Mod chip. The WiiKey comes ready to use, and offers an almost wireless installation. When they say almost wireless, what this essentially means is that there are Quick Solder pads for the chip. This method enables you, the gamer, to simply position the chip in the correct place on the Mother board of the Wii, in order to then apply a little bit of solder with a soldering iron. The WiiKey chip does however also require that you solder 4 wires to the specified places on the Wii motherboard. The WiiKey mod chip was the first chip that boasted full upgradeability through DVD-R discs to which you can burn / backup the new firmware updates, put The DVD in to your Nintendo Wii, and it will run and update the chip. Once again, the WiiKey also supports loading of both Wii and Gamecube backup games and import backup games. Original import games can be played as well, with a simple, single swap methos. Gamecube Homebrew games are also supported. Whether or not this mod chip will end up with it’s own custom OS is something we’ll just have to take a wait and see approach with. However, it offers everything you want, for a VERY reasonable price.
And finally, the last Nintendo Wii mod chip (often claimed to be the very FIRST Nintendo Wii Modchip) is the only chip in this round up that actually does not require any wires at all.
CycloWiz Nintendo Wii Mod Chips
The major advatange, or selling feature of the CycloWiz Nintendo Wii mod chip is in how it’s installed. Unlike the other 2 mod chips in this round up, the CycloWiz actually does not require you to solder any wires to the Wii mainboard. In fact, much like the WiiKey, you’ll simply use Quick Solder pads which are strategically placed in the design of the CycloWiz to enable you to simply position the chip on the Nintendo Wii Mainboard, and gently put some solder onto the points. This will make the required connections, and the chip will simply be installed, with absolutely no need figure out where wires are to be soldered or whether or not you’ve got the right type of wires, etc… The CycloWiz is also a fully upgradeable modchip, with promised firmware updates for the chip from the manufacturer. Again, I want to stress that firmware updates may not at all be required and perhaps may not come for some time. I myself do however like the idea that the chip will not be outdated should some new function or requirement become the norm.
To sum it all up, all of the Nintendo Wii Mod chips boast the features below. The only exception to this is the upgrade feature which is NOT available on the Wiinja chip. Take a look at the features, and decide for yourself which Wii mod Chip is right for you.
Now it’s up to you to decide which Nintendo Wii mod Chip is right for you.

PS3 Xbox 360 Or Wii
Thursday, December 17th, 2009This article is about “PS3 Xbox 360 Or Wii”, we hope to bring more articles about “Wii Key Update” in the near future:
Do you own a Ps3, Xbox 360 or a WII, what made you buy your console? Was it the technical specifications or did someone tell you theirs was so fantastic that you just had to join in the fun.
Now I am going to be honest with you, I own a Playstation 3 and I love it. So please excuse me if I’m ever so slightly biased but I will do my best to be fair. I have friends with the Xbox 360 and the Wii and they equally like there consoles but we all buy for different reasons.
As I just said I love my PS3 I love the way it looks, the way it handles music and movies and the way I can have a picture of my dog as my wallpaper on the screen. I am not an addicted gamer type, who cannot go a moment without playing. The reason I opted for the PS3 was more for its media capabilities and the upgradeability of the hard drive. The PS3 seemed more for the mature Gamer, who may have a family and want a multifunctional machine. I also liked the fact that right out the box the PS3 supported mouse and keyboard, this to me indicates that in the future the PS3 may be able to run my all time favourite RTS games with game play like its supposed to be played with a mouse and keyboard
With regard to the games I think They are fantastic , I’m currently playing through Ghost recon 2 Advanced war fighter the graphics are great the sound superb; but not that different from my friends Xbox 360 version. There has been a lot of hype about which console is the best for games and seeing both the PS3 and the 360 side by side at this point in time there’s not a lot in the mix to discriminate between them.
The 360 has just had an update that allows Xbox uses to use the windows live messenger network to communicate with friends and family on PC, Xbox 360 and via windows mobile devices. This can only be a good thing for the Xbox 360 community with its ability to connect the console to Windows media edition to share your movie , music and picture files also brings the Xbox 360 into the media centre for the home domain. I do feel that this is a good console but there have been many reports of the red ring of death and that they do suffer greatly from overheating problems.
Up to now, we have not mentioned the Wii, now this is a completely new breed of games machine, not focused on great graphics but on superb game play instead. Having owned a Game cube in the past, which was designed to be just a games console and nothing more Nintendo lost out in the first gen race. Now we have a new runner in the race called the Wii and boy its storming a head in the sales race. This little gem came from nowhere to be the top seller out of the next gen consoles but what has made in so popular?
Interaction’s the key to the success of the Wii with its superb motion sensing capabilities , interactive game play and a control system that is a master piece of inspired thinking. The Wii is just Fun in a box and great for all members of the family from your toddler to your gran I defy anyone not to be impressed by the Wii
I had my reasons to buy the PS3, it matched what I wanted in a game console, cost wise it was the most expensive. If I wanted a console just for gaming, I would have bought a Xbox 360 because of the price. I did consider the Wii before I purchased the PS3 I liked the interactivity a lot and thought my children would love it too. All in all I’m feeling no buyers regret in buying the PS3 but I must admit I am very tempted to buy A Wii to go with my PS3 I think they would look great side by side. Now to convince the wife of the benefits of yet another games machine in the house.

Booting Up Vintage Computer Systems The Fun of it All
Thursday, December 17th, 2009This article is about “Booting Up Vintage Computer Systems The Fun of it All”, we hope to bring more articles about “Wii Key Update” in the near future:
Starting and “booting up”. Vintage computers and electronic technology. You may have purchased a “vintage computer system” at a local garage sale. One schmendrick even found what he thought were four “valuable computers “in the garbage behind his house. He thought that he had come across the venerable “pot of gold”. Sad to say that even relatively modern Pentium 3’s that given enough throw away ram can actually run Windows XP and certainly Windows 2000 or 98 era technology are now considered only worthwhile as door stoppers or boat anchors. Yet you may well want to turn on and run that older vintage computer either just for the fun or it , to run older vintage computer and arcade type games or just because at the time you always wanted such a setup , your brother or neighbor had a powerful 386 or 486 pre Pentium vintage computer. It was something you always wanted, yet could never consider. Voila here it is in your hands, or trunk of your car. How do you set it up and turn it on.
First of all it is a standard setup as today’s more modern technologically advanced units. Unpack the devices you have. Attach a monitor – even a new LCD screen if the setup did not come with the older CRT cathode ray tube bulky monitor. Your computer may take relatively standard keyboard and a mouse. If the keyboard port on the back of your computer has a larger port than your current computer – you will need either an “AT” adapter or a relatively rarer AT keyboard with that larger port connection. If you have a standard PS/2 round port for the mouse, good. If not you may require what is called a “serial mouse” or a “PS/2 to serial mouse converter” so that you can use your current standard mouse. Hopefully the computer package you purchased, found or were given comes complete.
Now that the setup is complete plug in a standard computer power cord press in the switch and hopefully you are off to the races.
The computer should boot up. You should see an entry screen or set of screens with lettering. Voila you may see an older version of windows pop up or at the least what is called a prompt or “dos prompt”. The evolution of the personal computer PC software technologies was from simple text based DOS (Disc Operating System) which formed the profitable basis of Microsoft’s empire , to the early version of the Graphic User Interface -point to pictures on the screen with your mouse , Windows. The first well accepted in the popular mainstream version of Windows that became most well accepted was Windows 3.1, although it was first introduced before an update as Windows 3.0. Unlike current versions of Windows which are one integral package, the earlier versions of Microsoft Windows were a separate program, a shell, which sat on top of the working DOS program. This is essence is very similar to what current versions of the Linux operating system are set up. With a basic operating system having a GUI Graphic User Interface running separately on top of the base stand alone system. It’s not that primitive if you think of Linux’s use of the setup. It is akin to having more control of your vehicle with a manual transmission as opposed to an all inclusive automatic transmission on your car.
Now that you are your dos prompt you should see a: (colon following) or better yet c. (colon). Type the phrase “win” (without the quotation marks), and hit the enter key. If Windows 3 or version 3.1 is installed on your powerful setup, that version of Microsoft Windows may well start up. If you are at the a: prompt type c: (colon), hit the enter key and you should be at the c prompt. If you still have no result type autoexec or autoexec.bat. At the worst the computer should start up or reboot.
Its all about fun and enjoyment of technology and technologies. Think of what that bunch of electronics cost in its day. Perhaps its time to move on to newer CPUs, large (huge) hard drives or even sophisticated specialized gaming systems be it the Wii, PS3 or Xbox360. Still it’s a lot of fun to play around with the old stuff.

Free Wii Games How to Download Wii Games From the Net
Thursday, December 17th, 2009This article is about “Free Wii Games How to Download Wii Games From the Net”, we hope to bring more articles about “Wii Key Update” in the near future:
The Nintendo Wii has been around for a couple of years now. During this time a number of services have appeared online that claim to offer free wii games for download.
With the commencement of 2008 we are now beginning to see services emerge that offer entire libraries and collections of games – direct for download by the home user.
It was not long ago that I was down at the local Circuit City store picking up a couple of games for my Wii. The total cost of these games came to almost $200 (almost the cost of the console all over again) just in order to update my games collection.
There now are many more affordable and convenient options available, some that even claim to offer free wii games.
But do free console games really exist? Or is this claim another internet myth and fantasy?
Of all the various services online, a fixed price download service generally offers you best value for money.
When selecting your wii download service there are many many options to choose from. One feature that the best online wii games services will offer is 24/7 support with the ability to download as many wii games as you like for a one time initial fee. This support service is an invaluable tool for the beginner user.
A service such as Wii Media Downloads will give you both the support and tools to get these Wii Games onto your system. Finding the a safe a reputable service really is the key to downloading Wii Games online. Whilst there are technically not free wii games services online, for a fixed price of around $50 games, this works out to be literally a few dollars.
Finding a reputable service that you can use and the often needed support to assist on getting your hands on the very latest games.
